Strollers, car seats, cribs???

Question

Oh my! There is so much to think about when it comes to baby gear!
My husband and I are expecting our first, not until April 2019, but it will be the first grandchild on both sides and our parents have made it clear they have been waiting a LONG time! Lol so I am sure they will be very excited this holiday season, so I am trying to do some research on some big ticket baby items that I bet they will be asking about as Christmas gifts.
What are your recommendations for Strollers, Car Seats, and Cribs?
Or any other big ticket items for baby that I may not be thinking about?

I will highly recommend Stokke TrippTrapp high chair. Also a stroller with a bassinet, way better for babies back to lay flat down rather than in a car seat.

Splurge a little for a good travel system. I recommend Nuna or Uppababy brands! Nuna Pipa is super lightweight and portable, which I love!

We have an Uppababy vista that was worth every penny. Its a great stroller if you plan on having another baby someone close together . We also have the Nuna pipa. Hands down the best car seat ever. We had a Chico and from day one our newborn would scream and I always thought she just wanted to be held 2 months later it hit me maybe the car seat is hurting her sure enough the Nuna was soo soft and the moment we put her in it no more crying. Besides that our most used item has been a swing and bouncer now that she’s older.

Hi, 
I'm a FTM with a 4.5 month old. I would definitely recommend a travel system for a car seat/stroller. They click in and you can buy 2 bases (or more for grandparents) and have 1 car seat. I have a Graco one. I'd look into chicco (like the chicco urban) which I want for my next one. I would definitely say that if you or family can afford it, to splurge on carriers 
/strollers. There is definitely a reason for the extra $$$. I have seen other moms highly recommend the lillebaby or tula for carriers.

I just bought my car seat/travel system today which comes with the car anchor for the seat too I believe and I am extatic about it!! 
I love the sleek look/3 wheeled concept and also that the wheels are suitable for different terrains like if you went on a trail walk or something, it's totally built for it. 
It was about $500 in total, although the car seat and anchor you did have to buy separately.

A nice DSLR camera would be a great gift—you’d be able to send them lots of pro quality photos of their precious grandbaby without the time and money of a bazillion pro photo shoots.

It was important to us to have a jogging stroller so we went with the J is for Jeep stroller and the Evenflo Embrace LX infant seat (they are compatible). The Evenflo seat I like better than Graco for an infant but I like Grace better for a convertible seat for older babies. We got a crib that will grow with them (turns into a full bed) but plan to use it for both babies and not convert it down until the second one needs it because we already have a twin bed in our spare bedroom. I just hate waste and would rather it be a useful piece rather than something we have to get rid of later. A baby monitor can be pricey. We went with a $69 one from Amazon and after 11 months I can say it’s pretty good but I know people who spend a couple hundred on them. If you want a fancy diaper bag, that might be a good Christmas present to ask for. I went with an Eddie Baurer backpack from Target but it seems a lot of ladies on here like the designer bags so if you are into it, could be a good present idea.
