In serious need of advice 🆘

So to begin, my MIL did not speak to me for the first three to four months of this pregnancy. She is rude, ignorant and demanding. So I let her act like a child and went on with my life as happy as I could be.

Out of respect for my S.O. I sucked up my pride and became civil with her. I want everything to be perfect, and no matter what I really do want her to be in this babys life. BUT she is making it extreamly difficult.

I don’t know if i’m over reacting but we are in the process of building a house, so in the mean time we are renting but the babys room is extreamly small. So we were going to opt out of buying a crib right now and use a bassinet and playpen for the baby to sleep in.

Back to the MIL, she decided that she wanted to buy the playpen, which is perfectly fine with me. So she buys it tells me that the baby cannot sleep in it and that we need a crib. She was disgusted that we even thought about using a bassinet or playpen and continued to put me down about it.

How do I tell her to back off without being mean and starting a fight with my S.O.?
