Why are private rooms so expensive 😑?

My hospital charges $850 a night for deluxe, $1400 a night for premium deluxe with kitchen and sitting and $2.8K for the private chef room which is the biggest Shabang birthing deluxe suite they have😑😑
How much does your hospital charge?

Mine doesn't even offer anything like this. All the rooms are the same. Deliver in a delivery room and then they move you to a mother baby room. None of which could be classified as a suite, but they are only made for one patient. My hospital charges a day fee. So to stay one day, includes meals and care (except meds and extras that may be needed)at all one price.

My hospital doesn’t have those distinctions. All birthing rooms are private, and postpartum rooms have a couch/cot for the dad to be able to sleep in the same room. Cost I don’t know honestly

Haha I think that’s a NYC thing. My best friend just gave birth in Manhattan and told me what she forked over for a private room that her husband could stay in with her, I was shocked! I’m in ATL and didn’t have to pay extra last time.
