Upset about loosing touch with a long term friendship
Why? She’s been flakey, unreliable and ignores me to an extent.
Some examples... I invited her and her new bf for dinner but she called to say she was having a car issue 10min before hand (no big issue).... 2 months later I caught up with her but she only suggested catching up while she was with her other friends (also no biggy but starting to get an odd vibe)..... she ‘forgot’ to look at a commissioned piece of work I agreed to pay her for which was hurtful as it meant a lot to me...... she cancelled on a girly day trip the night before and I wasn’t able to get a refund on my travel ticket ($50) (she made no effort to rearrange)........ we had a chat on the phone, and she’s asked to stay with me and do fun things and I send her a message later on with ideas she might be interested in (she doesn’t respond) and the date she was meant to visit came and went without any acknowledgment that she wasn’t coming.... I send her a message to congratulate her on some good career/house news that I overheard........, she doesn’t respond... a month later she apologised and said she was going to call me in 2 days... guess what, no call...!!
If she wanted to stop being friends I wish she’d done it in a less hurtful way 😞 . She’s on social media all the time and she could have easily sent me a quick message to say sorry can’t do whatever was arranged anymore because I’ve made other plans etc...I’m still not really sure why she’s being this way.
I have only seen her in person once in the last 12 months. We’ve been friends for 11 years and she’s never been flakey like this.
I’m 4 months pregnant now, I asked if we could meet 2 months ago because I had some good news but she’s either ignored me, missed a date or not cared about me wanting to share my news with her. She doesn’t attempt contact or ever ask how I am anymore, the friendship is very one-way now.... 😢.
I’m just upset about letting go of a long term friendship. Sorry, this post is more of an upset rant... any comments are appreciated and thank you for reading this far xx
