Do I need regular ob appointments too?

Do I need to make regular ob visits outside of my monthly obgyn and ultrasound? Im asking because the office I go to is notorious for billing errors and scheduling more than necessary to get more money from insurance but I love the doctors.

I was told I'd have monthly appointments until my 3rd trimester.  At that point they would be every other week until a month before due date, then weekly until baby arrives.  :) they do my scans at my appointment, so some of my appointments are longer than "normal" but I'd rather it be that way honestly.

I guess it depends. My ob office doesn’t do ultrasounds i go to the hospital for them so i have different appts.

You should have normal appointments with an ob that are separate from scans. Unless, they are treating it like a normal appointment and then just hop on the ultrasound. 
My ultrasounds are done in completely different buildings by different doctors, so I have to go in for normal appointments separate. At those they just ask how your doing, take blood pressure, take a belly measurement, and use doppler. Then let you ask questions and tell you what you might expect to happen in the meantime of your next appointment.
