Just curious if anyone else pediatrician never prescribes medicine? My 2 year old got sick and turns out it was a viral infection, something I always thought could be easily cleared up with antibiotics but they just told me to alternate Tylenol and Motrin. I told them I had a 6 week old that I was worried about catching it but they just said to keep them apart. Even doing that my youngest still caught it, my oldest would sneeze and cough all over me and even if I wash my hands I'm sure I still have germs on me. I just thought they would have been a little more cautious since I have a newborn and maybe prescribe antibiotics to knock it out before he caught it. Every time I take them to the pediatrician they just tell me to keep doing what I am already doing so I really don't want to make another trip to the pediatrician if they are just going to tell me the same thing again. It's impossible to take both of them with me right now and finding a babysitter is impossible too. Has anyone had a newborn with a viral infection? What did your doctor do?
