If you’re comfortable with it it’s fine, there’s no set rule. Some moms leave right away, some take weeks or months. As long as they have the proper things to take care of him, he will be ok with them.

Not at all. My little guy went without mom for a couple days when he was less than a week old. Preemie little dude was in NICU for 4 days (I was there as much as I could be, but I couldn’t be there 24/7) and then was without me for 2 days when I had to go back to the hospital for preeclampsia. In his first week of life, he only spent 1 night with me. He was with dad for the 2 days I was in the hospital, but even then dad had to work, so he was with my MIL for 9 hours those days. Take a break. Baby will be fine.
