How long did it take you to start dating again?

comment the best advice you would give someone dating after a divorce.

My ex and I were emotionally distant for a year prior to my leaving him.  Then the divorce finalized a year later.  However, I met my current husband 5 months after I left my ex.  I wasn't expecting to date and it happened on a fluke.  My advice, especially if you have children.  Don't date! Don't go looking for someone to date.  You'll get lonely especially if you were with your ex a longtime.  I was with my ex for 14 years.  But just keep it yourself.  Work on yourself. Enjoy life with friends and family. Take time with your kids if you have them.  Someone will come along

I was separated off and on a few years before the final separation and filing.  That took a continued year and a half or so.  I started dating my now bf 6 months after the divorce was final.  The thought of dating terrified me but so did the thought of being alone the rest of my life.  When I finally decided I'd be ok if I was alone the rest if my life my bf and I got together lol.  Take your time, dont feel pressured.  Family and friends told me I should online date before I got with my bf but that's not for me. 
FWIW my bf asked me out a good 6 months before we got together but I promised myself I wouldn't date until the divorce was final.

Separated for 9 months, divorced for 4 months. I have one friend who I'm seeing, but other than that, the prospect of dating is terrifying to me. I kissed a guy at a party, and it was even a guy I used to be hot for, and there were a lot of emotions but fear was at the top. I've never had this reaction before, so I assume it means I'm not ready yet.

I’m honestly open to the idea now and whenever it happens. We weren’t married long, j filed for divorce two days before our one year anniversary. My divorce will be final next month. I found out he was cheating in May so I’ve been disconnected from him since then.

Honestly I started seeing someone May 28th after being estranged from my husband since March 16th. No I most likely wouldn't have done that, but the person I am seeing, not only do I have a history with already, but he knows I have a son and is ok with that, but the connection we share is stronger then it was back when we were 16 and being together.

I’m not divorced but I’ve been separated from my ex husband for 3 years and it took 2years to start dating again, not going to make myself look innocent and devastated I had “fun” and fwb! But tbh you just know when you’re ready to date and love again and have fun. As much as people will tell you to “get back in the saddle” You just know that gut feeling I guess! Goodluck x
