Do you think honeymoon funds are tacky?

I don’t want any gifts for my wedding I just want a really nice honeymoon. Would it be tacky to have a honeymoon fund and use it as a registry?

No, I don’t think they’re inherently tacky, though I think I’m in be minority on that since many people find it gauche to specifically ask for any gifts, much less money. 
 
I really dislike the Honeyfunds where the couple says you’re buying something specific for them (like a wine tour or whatever) but really you’re not. I thought I bought my friends a gondola ride in Venice and was so excited to hear about it, and they didn’t even do it! Like, I’m fine contributing to your honeymoon, but don’t say you’ll use the money for X and then put it toward Y. Seemed unnecessary. 
Also, I’d really prefer to just give you the full amount in a check or cash. Honeyfunds take a percentage of the money, which is a bummer.

We felt those gifting us was to help start our life together rather than having a vacation together... to each their own i dont think its tacky... but not what we would have expected of others

We did this an ended up with $1100! We didn't really go on a honeymoon but we spent the money on a nice night out. I think it was easier than registering for gifts.

They have an app for honeymoons so you go and register for where and what you what to do on your trip and people can put money towards things they want you to do.

We did this and still yet to go on a honeymoon lol with 2 kids and a house move just hasn’t  been right time and we’ve been married nearly a year lol xxx
