This is an advert from 1913. Of course, a lot has changed in the last 105 years (especially for women), but I still find this advert uniquely cringe worthy. Some questions to consider:

Have you seen any products out today that resemble this in any way?

What products are common for pregnant women today that you think people will look back on in 100 years (or less) negatively?

How has maternity fashion changed and how has it stayed the same?

Why would women (then or now) try to hide their growing belly?
