Petroleum Jelly Alternatives?

Question

Has anyone used Waxelene or any other natural alternatives to Vaseline for post circumcision care? Would any baby ointment work such as the Honest one? I’m not totally opposed to using petroleum jelly, just want to see if there are any good other options.

We used vasoline for over 2 weeks. It's partly for healing but mostly so your little guys incision doesn't stick to the diaper. Then it would irritate or tear the skin like a scab getting pulled over and over again! I recommend using it every diaper change so you don't cause any unnecessary pain. I also recommend staying away from pampers since the fuzz gets stuck to his little penis anytime you do not use vasoline. We switched to huggies when I finally figured out it was about the brand and not a typical boy thing.

We used the individual packets of a&d ointment. It worked perfect. It was also easy to throw a few in the diaper bag for when we went out. I got them on amaZon.

Don't use anything. They told us not to do any thing with it, no baths and just rinse and pat dry if needed. It healed just fine. I also have a 14yr old and the treatment was different when he had his. I would not get a plastibell if they offer, I felt like it was worse than the cutting. It stays on til it falls off and I felt like it was more painful for my littlest love. See what they tell you after the procedure, each provider is different! 😄

I just used petroleum jelly. That’s what they told me to use. He healed up just fine.

We used Vaseline in the hospital.  But we needed more and my brother in law got some petroleum free Vaseline type product from Whole Foods. It worked fine.
