*UPDATE*

I had my acupuncture appointment yesterday! (9.13) and it was amazing! The dr gave me more insight than my regular dr. She told me to stick with my good eating habits, no processed food, sugars, etc and a light workout. (Walking, jogging, etc)

She told me to stay on my Metformin since it’s such a low dose and also keep taking all the vitamins I have been taking.

She said that in Chinese medicine, PCOS is associated with digestive issues, so she gave me an herbal supplement (Jade Pearl) which she said will help me to develop a mature follicle, help my metabolism, and lose weight. I take it from cycle day 5 until 3 days post ovulation. Since I don’t have a period, and haven’t since January, she started me on the pills now and I have to do BBT tracking to see if I ovulate. When I do, I take the pills until 3 days after.

Also, NO COLD DRINKS. She said it constricts the blood vessels and makes your metabolism slower. So only hot, warm, or room/body temperature drinks.

I have to go weekly for the next 3 months! I am hopeful! More hopeful than my dr ever made me feel!

I will keep updating!

ORIGINAL POST:

Well, I am trying everything I can since my Dr. has told me to wait it out with the Metformin. She’s kept me on the same dose since June (500 mg a day) and still no period. Still taking vitamins and myoinositol/d-chiro.

I started reading into acupuncture and I’ve heard some great things about it and fertility. Specifically for women with PCOS. Appointment is next Thursday. I am hopeful. Only 5 months of trying, but it seems like a lifetime..

Also, I’ve tried OPK’s to see if I’m ovulating, even without a period (I’ve spotted here and there) but they’re ALWAYS negative.

I know this post is a little all over the place; just have thoughts that need to be released!

Point is, has anyone ever tried acupuncture for fertility and have success?

TIA.
