Baby blues?

I'm crying for no apparent reason for the past 2 days now. I just suddenly feel lonely and alone. I am 5 days postpartum and a first time momma. What can you suggest?

I went through this. I wish someone would of told me it’s completely NORMAL. No one can prepare you mentally for having a baby, so when it happens, it feels like your entire world just turned upside down and you’re like a chicken running without a head trying to figure it all out. This will pass. Just let yourself cry it out, and talk to family. You’ll be ok momma 💙 of course if it doesn’t pass, see your doctor. You’re not a bad mom, you’re not a weak person. You will get through this 💙

I had baby blues. I was so worried he’d die. I was absolutely exhausted. He cried a lot and I didn’t know how to fix it. I was overwhelmed with bottles and breast and sleeping and everything. It’s a lot to handle. It went away after about a week. I also had an episiotomy and VERY painful stitches for 8 days. So I was one unhappy mama. It’s stressful. I’m 5 weeks out and feel so much better. I love him to pieces.

For me the baby blues was sadness and being overwhelmed. It passed in a few days. Just talk to loved ones and seek support as you settle into your new life.

It’s normal to have baby blues in the first 2 weeks. My doctor told me that if it goes on longer than that to call them because it was likely developing into postpartum depression. With that being said, if you are feeling too overwhelmed or ever have feelings of wanting to hurt yourself or the baby, please call your doctor or go to the ER right away.

There’s a difference between baby blues and depression. You sound depressed. Baby blues are just really high HAPPY emotions. So high that you’ll cry about every single thing. You say you feel lonely and alone. Are you actually alone?
