Am I the only one who never got a HCG level test?

I went in a 5 weeks and 6 days because I thought I was farther along. Anyways they were able to see baby and the heart flicker so they told me a HCG test wasn’t needed. It kinda bothers me because I would have liked to have known, but I guess the heart flicker was a reassurance for the doctor!!!

I’ve been pregnant 4 times and NEVER had my hcg tested (even with my history of miscarriage).

Hcg testing isn’t standard in most places. They typically order that for history of miscarriage or if they can’t see anything on ultrasound, or if what they do see doesn’t match the estimated due date based off of LMP.

I only got one to start with. I don’t know why so many women go back over & over. Seems it creates more anxiety than anything.

I didn't have my first appointment until I was in my 10th week. The word hcg was never even mentioned. I had full bloodwork done, pelvic exam, and an ultrasound that day though. :)

For my first pregnancy I never had a blood test to confirm the pregnancy. The doctors office just took my word for the home pregnancy test and scheduled my intake visit and ultrasound 8 weeks later. I didn't think anything of it then but now after suffering infertility for 3 years and a miscarriage... it was strange I never had a blood test to confirm. So yes the ultrasound will definitely prove and as long as that little heart keeps fluttering, you're good. Congratulations! Have a happy pregnancy!
