How do you discipline your toddler?

So my daughter is getting a bit out of hand these days! Today she was crying hysterically because i didnt give her the medicine to play with it and then she bit my stomach (i’m pregnant) i felt like crying because i dont know how to deal with it, i kinda feel defeated! I dont do time out or spanking i always talk to her and explain and try to teach her through being calm and by example, but the biting is getting a bit out of hand. Please let me know what u guys do! I need to find a way to deal with my daughter. She’s been acting up a lot lately. Part of it’s just because I just had a baby 2 weeks ago, and she’s adjusting still. But part of it’s her becoming an independent toddler. If I do spank, she laughs. She ignores yelling. If I do time out she doesn’t care, will go right back to doing what got her in time out in the first place. I try talking to her, but she can only understand so much. I’m running outta options. I feel like all I can do is give her time and keep letting her know I love her, but I’m slowly losing my mind. Sorry I’m no help, but your not alone.

We completely ignore the fits and once he realizes we’re not giving into his fit it usually stops within seconds. When he bites I tap his mouth and firmly tell him we don’t bite. At 2 they are testing their boundaries and if you don’t set some sort of disapline it will just continue to get out of hand, we usually give our 2 year old 2 warnings and if he isn’t listening still we will either set him in time out or occasionally spank. My 2 yr old is all boy and really likes to push my buttons but because we stay consistent with him he listens pretty well for 2, with the exception of when he’s tired, there’s no getting through to him then.

We do a short time out if she's really out of hand which is rare (like the biting would warrant time out). Other than that we just teach by example, tell her what she should be doing instead of what she is doing, tell her not to do certain things.

We do time outs. I don't like it but there have been weeks where he was in time out every single day. I won't tolerate biting, hitting, throwing things out of aggression, or disobeying over and over and over when he knows better. It doesn't work for every kid but it works for mine. I leave him there for a minute or 2 and then ask if he's going to do it again. If he says no then I let him go back to playing and he's a perfect angel

We do time out if needed for things she knows aren’t ok. For something like hiring biting we correct that immediately and talk about why that isn’t ok. When she throws a tantrum I let her cry til she’s done then we snuggle and talk.

I know this post was awhile ago but I do 3 strikes you're out. So I tell/ask him 3 times to correct a behavior and after that it's a consequence like a favorite toy will be taken for the rest of the day. Some days a lot of toys are taken but the bonus to that is my house looks cleaner haha! I hope your situation improved.

We do time outs as well. I usually only use them when she refuses to listen/refuses to calm down. Sometimes she works herself up so much I just can’t get through. Sometimes she even says “I need a time out, okay?” when she knows she’s testing me. 
I don’t have a timer or anything though, I just say “you need to sit here until you’re ready to ________.” That could be -listen to momma, -pick up your toys, -use your inside voice, whatever. Sometimes she’s there for 15 seconds and she stops crying and is okay. Sometimes it takes longer. But it’s one of the only things that works to get through to her when she’s feeling really upset.
