Yall I did it!!
I’m currently 8 weeks postpartum. Last night was a depressing night... we have a military ball in two months and I went to see if I could fit into my old ball gown from last year.... I was 8... EIGHT inches wider than the zipper to close around my ribs/chest....
I was like okay.. I’ve lost over half the baby weight so understandable I can always get another dress, but I was still bummed out about it since it’s my DREAM dress. This morning I went to try on my shoes that I’m planning to wear in 22 days for my friends wedding(I’m the MOH). They didn’t fit.... NONE of my heels fit. I couldn’t get half of my foot in any of them.
I keep meaning to start working out, I’ve had the okay for 3 weeks now but I keep putting it off for some reason. Telling my husband(who’s a certified fitness instructor in the military) that I need help, he’d give me daily work outs but I would always find reasons not to do them... After the shoe debacle this morning I found my self looking at jogging strollers, coming up with reasons why I COULDN’T go work out yet. That I couldn’t take my son for a walk in his VERY nice, expensive stroller. That I HAD to use a jogging stroller...
I got up off the couch and went to our closet to see if any of my workout clothes fit.... they did, but the shirt was a little tight. But they fit none the less. I put my son in his stroller and walked out the door. I figured I walk to the end of the street next to our apartment... figure d it was maybe .5 mile. It was hot, humid, no shade, and no breeze. I got to the end of the street, a little tired but moving pretty good. I gps’d my house to see how far away it was... y’all I was 2, TWO miles away from home.
That means I had to go two more miles to get out of this ungodly weather. I’ll admit, that last half mile was BRUTAL. I wanted to give up, but I knew I couldn’t stop cause 1) I wasn’t home 2) I couldn’t stay out in this weather with my son. So I pushed through. I was walking SSSUUUUUUPER slow but I made it home. But I did it... I did my first work out in YEARS, 8 weeks postpartum I walked four miles in 30 minutes in ungodly weather conditions
And guess who just chilled out and perfectly cool the entire time while I was borderline DYING.... this guy...
Yes I have a slight belly still and I don’t care 🤷🏼♀️
