Depo shot AFTER pregnancy?

So don’t get me wrong, I’m so thankful and blessed to have my sweet baby girl growing! BUT! I want to enjoy some time with my daughter. 
So what are your thoughts on the Depo shot? Have you had it? How did it make you feel? Things like that. Thank you ladies!!

Absolutely hated it!! Got it on my 6 week check after my son was born and bled for A YEAR straight, no breaks at all, constant flow. Only got the shot three times all together before I decided to stop getting it. Then it took about 6 months for my cycle to regulate itself again. Will definitely be looking into other options this time around.

I have had the Depo shot twice, years apart, seems each time it made me gain 30 lbs and seriously messed up my whole hormonal balance and cycle. The super heavy, long periods were insane. As an RN, I now know that it basically puts your body temporarily into menopause. It's so bad for you. I'd look for a better option, like an IUD.

I hated it as well totally messed up my cycle for two years and i only had two shots i even tried the pill after and still out of wack and now im pregnant so i have to wait and see if things are back to normal also i was on my period everyday for over two months the cramps were terrible and the other days i was spotting i pretty much bled the whole time

I had gotten the depo right after I had gave birth to my son before I even left the hospital. The ONLY downfall to me is BLEEDING for like 2 months straight 😭🤦🏾‍♀️😩. I like having to get it every 3 months, & I was on it for 4 years. Then I had got off it to get pregnant, & it took me 9 months to do so. My periods  had eventually stopped all together, & it worked well for me. I know some women blow up while on the shot, but I diddnt. It just worked well for me. I will say get off it way before you attempt to get pregnant, because my periods started right back after I missed my shot. They were regular, but it still took some time for my body to regulate.

I honestly hated it and had a period for 30 days, then like 4 day break then for 12 days and like 6 week break it was never consistent. Not to mention I gained 30lbs. I would say I loved the Mirena IUD!! No period, no mood swings and over all it was awesome!

I was on the depo for nearly 2 years, it wasn't all that bad, it just made me a little moody and made me gain 10-15 pounds.  After being off of it for almost 2 years I was FINALLY able to conceive my daughter, I'm not sure if that had anything to do with why it took so long! Good luck!
