Formal or nickname? Which for the birth certificate?

I love the name Maisie, but wasn't sure if I should have Margaret as the official name and just call her Maisie for a nickname.

I'm baffled by Maisie as a nickname for Margaret. Is that a thing?? The names aren't similar 🤔 I would just do Maisie of that's what you want to call her.

They both sound great. Consider this though: whatever you pick for her birth certificate will be the name on her bills, drivers license, and what her teachers will call her on the first day of school.

I feel like Maisie is definitely a name in its own right. It's on the cutesy side for sure, but it is a real name. Margaret is lovely but I don't think they're related.

We’re doing Margot on the birth cert. hubby wanted Margaret but i feel like if we’re calling her Margot that’s her name!!

We liked Chase but I hate Charles. So our sons name is Chase. It’s really up to you.

I think Maisie is fantastic. But Margaret really is a wonderful idea if for some reason she wants a more I don't want to say formal name, but as a just in case. :) Maisie is due for a comeback though.
