Intentionally kicking?

I’m 21 weeks pregnant and baby is really kicking things up in there, I was just wondering does the baby control the kick or is it just a reflex

I don’t believe the baby has any knowledge as to where they’re kicking, but they will definitely respond to certain stimuli by kicking - sounds, lights, pressure, you moving... so if you poke your abdomen, baby will sometimes kick back. But babies do often pick a “favourite” spot in your uterus and therefore will likely kick you in the same spot a lot. My baby prefers low down and kicks my bladder a lot. My mum said I loved to kick her in the ribs... oops, sorry Mom.

Depends on age. I think this app said motor skills start to develop around 20 weeks, where movements are more intentional. Can’t remember exactly now!

So I'm no expert, but from my experience baby decides when to kick, though probably not where. The first time I felt my girl kick was in response to my poking, and I've recently saw a video of a similar thing.
