Calling in Sick

So I called in sick today, due to morning sickness. My boss later on text me and then called me asking if I can still come in for at least part of the shift because she was having trouble finding coverage and one of my coworkers was sent to the ER this morning.

I know this may not be the most controversial thing, but this got me thinking, do you think employers should be allowed to contact a sick person and ask them to come in anyways? Does it depend on what’s wrong with them or on their job description? Should a sick employee be left alone to recover and only be contacted to find out their expected return date?
