Can you lock your bedroom door since she tried to take your LO while you were asleep?
I wouldn't let my mil take her for that reason alone - just because it's her grandbaby. But I probably wouldn't let her regardless. At least not while she's that young. It'd be an absolute last resort to have my mil watch her for that long, due to my mil living an hr away.

Nope. Nope. Nope. I LOVE my MIL and we have an amazing relationship. But if she (she never ever would) or anyone took my son from me while I was sleeping just so SHE could sleep with him?? Nope. ESPECIALLY not after I'd already expressed I didn't want that. Y'all are the parents and despite living with her, that's crossing a boundary that you put in place. Your baby, so you get to decide the rules. It'd be COMPLETELY different if she'd asked and you agreed, or if you asked her to be on baby duty so you could sleep, or if you asked her to babysit. If that happened with my MIL, my husband and I would be having a serious conversation about it and I'd expect him to address it with his Mom...but if he didn't, I would.

I let my MIL sleep with my son in a different floor of the same house so I could get some rest when he was a newborn. But if she had demanded or simply taken my child she would absolutely not be allowed to see him anymore
