He’s finally here! 💙

Whitney

I’ve read over these stories for months patiently waiting my turn and it’s finally here! After 2 years of ttc I found out in January that I was expecting! Hubby and I were over the moon!! We announced to all of our friends and family just after Easter that we were expecting a little boy.

Everything progressed amazingly until 33 weeks when I started to have slight problems with my blood pressure. It was slowly on the rise. I made it work until finally at 37 weeks I was pulled from work and placed on “light duty” at home.

Then finally on Labor Day (37+6) I had enough high blood pressure readings at home that I went to l&d to be checked out. I arrived at 10:30pm.

The doctor on duty checked me and I was dilated to 2cm (at my last appointment I was completely closed). They called my doctor who said to admit me for induction. I was admitted at midnight and we started pitocin at 1am. At 4am I was checked and progressed to 3.5, almost 4cm. I asked for and received my epidural at 4:30am. Nurse checked me at 5am and I had progressed to 5cm!

At 7:45 my doctor arrived to check on me. The look on my face I’m sure was great when he told me I was about 9.5cm with just a small lip on one side! He broke my water and said he would have the nurse check me in an hour. At 8:22 my husband ran for the nurse because it felt like baby boy was right there and sure enough she started prepping the room for delivery! By 8:40 I was pushing with the nurse and at 9:09 my doctor took over.

I didn’t think I was progressing much honestly! Everyone was saying “good job” and “you’re doing great” but I just didn’t believe them!

However something was right because at 9:15am our little man made his debut! Weighing in at 7lbs 5oz and 20” long with a full head of blonde hair he was finally here!

So here I am, almost 24 hours later, still in shock and completely in love with this little guy 😍
