I live in a very Hispanic city and “J”s are pronounced “H”. Like seriously I heard someone pronounce pajamas as paHamas.

I live in an area that has a large Hispanic population, so I do not have an issue with pronunciation. Obviously, there are areas people would pronounced it with a J. It depends on where you live. I'd like to think most areas would be ok though.

My husbands name is Javier (Javi) and it’s 50/50 with pronunciation. He gets called all types of things at work. When he introduces himself though, most people seem to get it. If you love it, use it ❤️

Maybe if you had Javier on the birth certificate, it would make people more likely to pronounce Javi correctly, as Javier is a much more commonly known name. Regardless, I like it, and you should use it if you want. It’s not a “weird” name, so just explain it to people who mispronounce it.
