10 week ultrasound??

Do you get an ultrasound at your first appointment? I’m 10 weeks and have my first appointment today!! My mom says they will just use the Doppler to hear baby’s heartbeat. I’m hoping to see the baby AND hear the heartbeat!

Yeah you will. Itll be the dating scan. They make sure baby is measuring with your last period date. And adjust due date if not.  It's too early to hear the heartbeat without an ultrasound anyways. Here was my 10 week us for fun... now I'm 30w

I think its different between countries and even your doctor? I have my 10 week (/first prenatal appointment) check up on Friday. I called this morning and they said they do not do ultrasounds there and that I will have to book them at the hospital. They might try the doppler but it could be too early. It was super dissapointing to hear, especially since it seems everyone on this app gets to have early ultrasounds to make sure everything is going well by now!

my midwife doesnt do a scan until 20 weeks so my first appointment which is at 12 weeks, they just use the doppler. if for some reason she cant find a heartbeat, she will order an ultrasound

At my doctors they do ultrasounds at 8 week's then you see a doctor at 10 week's!
