Hi, I’m not in he military or long distance (yet) but I have some questions for anyone who would like to answer them. Little backstory, my boyfriend of three years has been going back and forth on joining the military for a while now. He wants to, but he’s hesitant because we’re in college right now both finishing up our associate’s degrees this spring. He said he’d rather join the military now before going any farther in his education, but he’s scared because what if he forgets everything he learned and has to build on things (he wants to teach high school). He’s talking to a recruiter tomorrow to maybe help him figure it out.

I’m happy for him, this is something he’s been thinking of for so long, and I’d NEVER tell him he can’t do what he wants. But when we talk about it you can just feel we’re both hesitant because “how do we do long distance?” We go to the same college, live in the same town, have a class together, and work near each other. We talk everyday. We literally have NO CLUE how to do long distance especially military (if that even makes a difference). We don’t even know how to talk about it! We could really use some advice on how to talk about this in case he decides he wants to join now or even sometime in the future. Thanks!
