Back story: Less than a month ago I decided to try the nuvaring. I inserted not on day one of my cycle (didn’t do enough research (only listened to the nurse practitioner who only mentioned insert and removal instructions) and discovered later on that my husband and I had completely unprotected sex the day I inserted which was around ovulation).

I left it in for about 5 days and started to feel awful (dizzy, nauseous, cramping, etc.) so I took it out). Up until yesterday I was super nervous I had gotten pregnant because I was having vivid dreams and stomach cramps (similiar to my last pregnancy). To early for a test to show anything if it were true.

Yesterday I suddenly started bleeding heavy (usually I spot when my period starts for at least a day). Since then I have been heavy bleeding, clots, hip pain, and cramps.

Question is: is this a normal reaction to having used the nuvaring even for a few days? Or should I be cautious if it doesn’t change?
