Is taking an infant to the ball appropriate?

I’ve always been again taking babies to the ball because it’s not guaranteed that they’ll stay quiet during the whole ceremony. (To me the ceremony is the best part) plus my husband is in the Color Guard and I love listening to the guest of honor...

Back to the point, my daughter will be 8 months by the time of the ball. The originally plan was for her to stay with my grandma but I’m breastfeeding and she refuses the bottle (also, if you have tips for getting her on the bottle without starving her I’d love to hear them..) I was really looking forward to the ball this year, I already got my dress. Is best that I just stay home??
