TMI question, pimple or in grown hair? No picture

I noticed I have a hard bump on the outside of my vagina, up where the hair grows (don't know the word), above the lips and all. Don't know if it's a pimple or an in grown hair? I don't shave, can you still get in grown hair? I never had an in grown hair before, and never had a pimple down there either. It hurts a lot. Thanks

Yes and yes. It could be either, or both. You can get ingrown hairs whether you shave or not so it could be that. You can get a pimple from dirt or bacteria that gets trapped in the skin. Take a photo for your own viewing only, for reference in case it happens again at some point. Use a warm compress to soothe the pain and bring the infection to a head. If it gets bigger or more painful see a dr.
