Is it too weird?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for two years on Monday and I was really thinking of getting him a small promise ring. Just a small silver skinny one. He has already got me a promise ring. I just think it’s the right time since he is leaving for bootcamp in about 5 months. I really want him to understand that I promise to support him, love him and I cannot wait till we are united as husband and wife. I know 2 years isn’t long but we see each other every day and you know what they say, when you know you know. I’m italian and for us it’s pretty normal to get the boyfriend and promise ring, but he’s American. So should I or no? ps, I also want girls to know he’s taken :-)
