Is baby(6 mo. +) Oraljel safe for 8 mo. Old?

I got baby orajel and the package says it's safe for babies 6 months or older. Its non medicated. The ingrediants are water,  sorbitol, propylene glycol, glycerin, cellulose gum, poloxamer 407, flavor,  chamomile, potassium sorbate, simethicone,  sodium saccharin, and citric acid. 
I tested it on myself and while it did have a pretty intense cooling effect, it did not cause any numbness. Which is the fear when giving a baby orajel.

Technically yes but i would be careful. Orajel can cause the gums to toughen up and prolong the pain and teething. I would just try a cold wash cloth and lots of cuddles

It can cause methemoglobinemia which is when the amount of oxygen is decreased in baby. The fda advises no one under 2 use it because of this. Its rare but serious risk

This is homeopathic and it usually only takes one dose at a time to take effect for my LO. If needed you can give additional doses, as you can’t OD on this stuff.

Orajel is being recalled. You can check with the FDA. It's been all over the news. It's very unsafe for babies. For one, they contain unsafe ingredients. Two, they can cause choking if they happen to swallow any of it. Their throats will become numb and they can choke on food or formula/breastmilk or whatever it may be. And third, those gels harden the gums, making it more challenging for teeth to breath through (aka they cause more pain). These should be avoided at all costs.

Orajel is never safe!! Google it. It has killed babies. It’s rare but it happens. I had bought some and before using it I talked to my pediatrician and she urged me to throw it away without using it. She had a patient die from it 😥.

It might say non-medicated, but if it contains simethicone, it is medicated. Simethicone is the generic name for the medication Gas-X and Mylicon.
