Egg collection...what to expect?

Question

So my appointment has been made for Tuesday
After having a scan yesterday and rescanned today it’s all go go go which all of a sudden become very real and a very emotional Zoe so any advice? What will I be expecting ? Any tips? 
So nervous!
Update: my egg collection has been moved forward to Monday 😐

I was give a general anesthesia and the retrieval was textbook.
When I got home I was in a lot of pain, throwing up and I was so swollen!
I had very bad anal pains as well. Sorry for tmi.
I think my experience is rare but I wanted to warn you it's not always as easy as everyone says. 
Prepare for lots of rest, get Gatorade to replenish fluids and flush out the anesthesia, remember to be careful about painkillers and stick with paracetamol.
It took me about 4 days not to waddle when walking, it was very uncomfortable for a while. I was forced to take it easy.
I really don't want to scare you, but before I had my retrieval I only read comments from women about how easy it was and I was really shocked.

Well I hope it's different for you. For me I had a ridiculous amount of pain for 2 full days. Woke up from retrieval crying.

Hi Zoe,
My egg collection was so much easier than I was anticipating. I'm in the uk so was given a sedative and strong pain killers. I can remember the nurse telling me that the procedure was done and I couldn't believe it. I felt groggy for the rest of the day, but slept it off and was fine by the following day. Hope it goes really well for you. I had my transfer on Wednesday, so currently in the dreaded 2ww. Good luck ✨ xx

I was nervous, too, but my experience was really pretty good! I was exhausted to start, since I had to get up at 5:00 for the drive to the hospital where my retrieval was, so I was mostly just fatigued all day. I felt very taken care of and very relaxed by the anesthesia. Felt sore the rest of the day (like bad period cramps), but between pain meds and a heating pad, it was tolerable. Napped on and off. I felt mostly fine the next day—bloated and a bit tender, but otherwise ok.

I also found it easier than I was expecting. I was awake for it ( mead conscious sedation, but was aware of everything happening). Definitely uncomfortable, but not bad. My doc was really digging too- they think I ovulated prior to the procedure and she was trying everything she could to get eggs and I’m grateful she managed to save three! 
I was expecting a horrible recovery too from everything I read on here but I had two days of very minor occasional cramps and that was it. Took Tylenol and used my heating pad on the day of retrieval, and nothing after.
