I’ve heard the worse stories from the depo shot and literally watched one of my friends hair fall out from it overtime. She got so sick constantly, dizziness, fainting, not feeling herself, depression etc. Once the shot was “out of her system” she felt so much better. She was a new person.

I was on it for a year and a half.  I actually did weight watchers during that time and lost 30 pounds.  Plus, it stopped my periods completely.  However, it thinned my hair out which caused some massive self esteem issues. The doctor told me it takes the same amount of time you've been on it to leave your system so take that into consideration as well.

Was on the depo shot like a year or so I think? Never had a period. Gained 40 pounds. Had absolutely NO sex drive was my only issue. No sex= strain in my relationship= depression due to lack of intimacy ☹️ I have a normal/low sex drive I feel like, so if you have a high one maybe it’ll work better for you 🤷🏼‍♀️

Gained 60 pounds in 6 months, made my migraines worse and had bad mood swings. It did take away my heavy periods which I loved. But stopped using it due to weight gain. I went from 125 to 180. Had a hard time losing weight even with eating and exercising. I was eventually put on wellbutrin for being depressed which helped me lose 30 pounds so now I'm at 150.
