Today I got diagnosed with HSV-1. I was actually rather calm since the days before I was frantically crying and obsessing over the internet looking up things, which my doctor told me not to do. The weeks before I’ve noticed something was wrong but didn’t think too much of it. I had a little bit of burning/itching and pain during intercourse. I just started dating this guy and I know I never had this problem before. He said neither did he... which it’s hard to believe because I know some people don’t even know they have HSV at all and never get symptoms. But he was actually a champ when I told him and I think we will be okay. BUT if anyone else has HSV-1 and can explain to me this question... if we both have it can we still have sex unprotected? Or how many times do you get an outbreak?
