Soft cervix

I had my weekly doctor appointment yesterday. I’ll be 36 weeks tomorrow. I had to get my GBS test done and my doctor checked my cervix. I’m not dilated yet, but she told me it was soft. What exactly does that mean? She didn’t really go into detail, so I’m not sure. Thoughts?💜
