At what point do you go to a fertility clinic?

I have been working with an endocrinologist to get my prolactin levels normal. Prior to that we had already been trying for 2yrs before we found out about that problem. Have had normal levels now for 4 mths. How long do we wait?! I have a feeling this was just the surface of our problems but that could be paranoia.

How old are you? Less than 30? Wait a year. Past 30? 6 months. I was already 38 and had been trying 3 years when I went and unless I was going to do insemination they didn't want to even do any testing on me. All they ordered was a sperm analysis and they said he was capable of getting me pregnant.  (We are trying for #2, so he hear least worked once!) But suggested no testing for me.

Answer

I would talk to your doctor, especially if there is a family history of struggling to get pregnant. I went for my pre-conception visit and told them about my moms struggles and she said she would refer me to the infertility clinic for testing after 5 months of no results!
