To Announce or not to Announce?

Question

Ok this is my first baby. I am 13 weeks. Does everyone feel comfortable with announcing at this time? I feel like I am in the clear. But I am still kinda worried about when the right time is. I have read some places that 13 weeks is 2nd trimester and some say 14 weeks is 2nd trimester?

Up to you. I announced today at 12 weeks. We have heard the heart beat 3 seperate times already and all seems well. I am also showing a little bit already.  To be honest you can MC at anytime, yes odd are reduced but sad things happen some times. I MC very early back in March.  I know friends who have had to deliver Stillborn babies at 8 months pregnant. Nothing is more crushing but they were overwhelmed with understanding, support and love. As soon as you are ready and feel confident than that is the best time. It will be different for everyone.

I announced yesterday at 13 weeks 4 days! It’s really whenever you are comfortable. I made sure to just wait to announce after I had the NT ultrasound and saw that the little nugget looked healthy!

we are waiting until after the anatomy scan. I had a cousin who was pregnant and everything was fine until the anatomy scan. she found out then that there was no more heartbeat. 
I also had my second miscarriage in March so we are just being safe and waiting. plus it's our last and the world doesn't need to know right away. we are enjoying keeping this to us and our close friends and family

I announced on social media last night (I'll be 15 weeks tomorrow). I partly waited because I needed to finish telling close family & friends first (just told my parents a week ago when they visited). I also waited til after I had my OB appt. Thur. Heartbeat was good, baby moving around like crazy trying to avoid the dr. 😂 I feel confident making it public.

I’m 11w6d and close family and friends all know.  The rest will find out a bit later.  When you are comfortable do it!  And webmd states second trimester starts at week 13, so does my midwife.

The right time is when you feel comfortable announcing. I’m 11 weeks and have told a few select people who I know will be my support system for any reason. However I’m personally waiting to tell another select group of people until we get the genetic results back. Maybe after I get that information back I’ll feel more comfortable telling the world... but at this point I’m just not there yet. Do what’s comfortable for you... not whatever the norm is.

I think I’m going to wait for the anomaly scan but I might be being ridiculously cautious - I’m a bit anxiety prone at the moment. I had my 12 week scan on Tuesday and everything looked great. That being said my parents, in laws and a couple of really good friends know already as I would want their support no matter what. Ultimately I think only you know the right time for you. Good luck.

We waited until getting seeing that everything was ok at the NT scan.  But we also had a miscarriage last fall and didn’t find out until after we had announced... did not want to go through that again
