Midwives brew??

Question

I saw a post earlier about someone using the “midwives brew” to induce labor. I’m a FTM so I’m kinda clueless but isn’t castor oil not recommended? Has anyone ever had the OK from their doctor to use it to try to induce naturally? Or has anyone used it before and had a good/bad experience?

I did some research on Castor oil and it said there is no proven fact it caused harm to your baby, it’s not recommended until you are 40+ weeks and babies can poop because they are late but there is no real connection they can be sure of.. with that being said if your overdue prob can’t hurt to try, just be ready to poop alot

midwives Brew had castor oil in it and I drank it about 4 days ago and nothing happened

I've never heard of midwives brew but my cousin has successfully induced her labor 3 different times with castor oil with no problems or complications. I've also read its not recommended by doctors though
