Novasure Endometrial Ablation

Veronica

Okay ladies I want to hear about your experience with this procedure! I had it done about a week ago and I am curious and I'm sure other ladies are too.

Here is my experience:

First off here's a little background on me. I have had 2 children and have had a heavy 6-8 period since I was 12 1/2 years old. After I weaned my 2 y/o my periods became the worst they have ever been. I am a person who never misses work and I had to call-in to work because of cramps. For me this is not okay it was time for a change. So I talked to my ob and asked about ablation, 2 of my sisters had it done. He gave me and ultra sound which reviled that I have a tilted uterus, a cyst on one ovary, the other moved to my spin and a thick uteran lining. All things that can lead to a painful period.

Day 1: I was put under general anesthesia, came put of it right away and felt fine. I live an hours drive from the hospital. On the drive home I felt super nauseous and threw-up and then the cramping started. By the time I got home I was in hell. My pharmacy is awful, (not much choices around here), so my bf had to drive back in to town to get my painkillers, (my dr prescribed norco). The cramping was awful I felt like I was in labor. After a couple hours the cramping calmed down and I was able to function again. I had light bleeding nothing a panty liner couldn't handle.

Day 2: Very mild, if any, cramping throughout the day and light spotting.

Day 3: Still spotting no cramping and some brown discharge. Some of my uteral lining too, which was really weird looking because it was burnt.

It contineaued to be like this for the next week the discharge getting clearer and more watery until day 9.

Day 9: My period started, nothing heavy just pink spotting and light cramping. It took me a couple of days to realize that it was my period because of how light it is.

I am now on day 11 and still spotting. My Dr. told me it will take at least 3 months to know if it worked. I'm wondering if this means I'll still have a period however light it may be?

What's your story?
