FTM question: Overstimulating stroller arch toy?

Question

We will be trying to avoid screens/tv for the first two years of baby’s life. 
I just bought this toy and it has amazing reviews on amazon (called tiny love meadow days), and as soon as I got it I felt like it’s too much. It’s a lot of color and sound and stimulation. 
Do you think some toys like this can be too much, and would be similar to getting the baby to watch tv?

Not enough stimulation is not good for the baby either. Avoiding tv is your choice but some screen time is not the devil.

Huge difference between colorful toys and TV. You want to stimulate with toys, things you can touch. Arch should be fine.
We also avoid tv/screens!

Personally I think the environment is stimulating enough so I don't use those toys on strollers or car seats. Plus, I don't want my baby to think she needs toys all the time. That being said, the toy and screens are very different. Get the toy, skip the screen.

We play nursery rhymes and learning programs for my son. We’ve done that since he was about 8 months old. He is 2 now. He knows his colors, can count to 10, sings nursery rhymes and is learning abc’s now. I think it’s all about balance. Is he in front of tv all day? No he goes outside and plays but we don’t deny him access to it.

I'm with you, I don't do screens until she's old enough. However this is interactive, baby has to do something with it. I think it's a lot different :)

The problems with screens is that it’s 2 dimensional and babies don’t have completely developed eyes so you want them to see lots of bright colors and textures of physical things not screens to help aid the eyes growth. I think it’s great you’re intentionally avoiding screens. I have some friends that did and I plan to as well.

I don't think it's really necessary to have any sort of hanging toy over the stroller. The child can either be facing you and you can chat with each other, or if they're facing the other way, they will watch the world pass by. No need for excess toys in their face.

If they dont get enough stimulants that will cause just as many problems as sitting them in front of the TV for hours

I had learned(thanks to bb#1) that less is more. The simplest the toy is the better.
