Period on active pills

I am 15 weeks postpartum and bled the first 11 weeks. Two weeks ago, I started my birth control pills. Today, I started bleeding but I still have a week of active pills before I get to the week when I should bleed. I was on these pills for over a decade before TTC and had a cycle like clockwork, so I don’t remember what it’s like to start on them.

Is this normal? Do I just keep taking the pills like usual and eventually my body will figure it out?
