30weeks pregnant and nipple issues!
So I’m into my third trimester and have what I think is dried colostrum on my nipples (I realize that’s normal). I let it go for months but recently took a warm wash cloth and wiped away the colostrum from one side. It didn’t initially hurt but after I guess the skin under it was irritated and it felt “raw.”
So my question is, what should I do about this crust? Should I leave it? Apply nipple cream? They’re tender now because the skin that has been covered by the dried colostrum is exposed.
I don’t want this to stop my milk from coming out when I go to breastfeed! Does the crust go away once your milk comes in? I’m seeing my doctor tomorrow so I plan to ask her as well. Thanks in advance!
I never thought I’d pay so much attention to my nipples! 😂😫
