My husband and I ordered custom made fortune cookies to announce our news to both of our parents. So last week I emailed my husbands mom and invited her and her husband to chinese for dinner so we could let them in on the news. She emailed me midweek and said she would rather do hibachi for dinner that weekend and that she was also going to invite my husbands older brother, girlfriend and their 3 kids (which is fine, we just weren't expecting the party of four to become a party of 9). We could still put the fortune cookies to work at hibachi so it wasnt a big deal. So, the next day I got another email from his mom saying that hibachi wasnt "kid friendly and the kids wont eat anything there anyway" so she wanted to change to do buz n neds (bbq joint) instead....... at this point, both my husband and I are irritated because this ruins our plan completely. I didn't order 50 custom made fortune cookies to give them out at a bbq joint. His mom is always doing things like this, just wishy washy and never does things according to plan and makes inconsiderate decisions without even really asking. Mostly everything they do revolves around my husbands older brother and his kids. I know it's not her intent but I cant help but be a little annoyed with her. At this point I almost feel like telling her the news when we are on the way home from the hospital in 9 months 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️.
