Wiccaning?

I've hear dog it, seems like the Wicca version of a Christianing? But can someone dumb it down for me?

It’s a presentation to the goddess/god and a naming ceremony. You can either use it as an opportunity to give your child a secret magical name or just as an introduction, but it’s not in any way you promising your child’s devotion to a deity.

From what I've read (only a year into wicca nur avid reader), it is a way to give thanks for this life that was created and a promise to raise them to the best of your ability that keeps them in tune with  Wiccan principles, NOT raising them to necessarily become Wiccan. If I conceive I definitely plan on doing this myself.
