What do you have to do for STD tests?

Okay so my boyfriend is afraid of doctors and so he is uncomfortable about going to get tested for STDs. He has had previous sexual partners and I haven’t so it makes me uncomfortable that he hasn’t gotten checked out. So what exactly does he have to do? I don’t know how to explain to him that it isn’t a big deal to just walk in there and get it done. I don’t imagine it’s horrendously difficult or uncomfortable, am I wrong?

Don’t have sex with him until he gets tested. He can even go to planned parenthood. Plenty of people go to the doctors to get tested and no one will know what he is going to the doctors for.

Call a clinic/doctors office and schedule an appointment to get his blood drawn for an std test. Its very easy. Usually i just ask for it with my physical or pap

I know for girls they do a swab and bloodwork. I imagine it would be the same for guys? Though idk how the swab would work? Either way its a lot better then finding out later in life you’ve had an std all this time

It depends, some are blood tests (syphilis and HIV), and others are a swab (gonorrhea, chlamydia, and trich).
