I have so many questions!

Kerie

This is my 3rd baby, but first time breast feeding. I had little time to prepare or research before my son was born as I had an emergency c section at 30 weeks. I had done some research a few days prior because we knew he would be premature. I learned that my breast milk would give him exactly what he needed at his stage of prematurity and that formula fed preemies have a higher chance of sids and that formula can also cause bowel infections so I chose to breast feed. Since he's in the NICU I'm obviously exclusively pumping until he's able to breast feed but we live an hour and a half away from the hospital so I won't be able to breast feed regularly until he's home. My first question is how do I build up my supply? I'm 6 days pp and my supply is all over the place. During the day I get anywhere from a 1/2 oz to 3 oz a time and during the night I get a bit more. My next question is since I won't be able to breast feed regularly until he's home and eventually he will be taking bottles instead of getting milk through his feeding tube, will it be possible to breast feed or is he more likely to want a bottle? Also, is there any tips or information I should have since I'm completely new to all this? Any and all advise is welcome!
