Breastfeeding while being treated for mastitis? (Read description)

Can you continue to breastfeed while being treated for mastitis?

I have a doctors appointment later today because of a lump in one of my breasts and the skin over it was red when I woke up this morning. They said it might be mastitis but they need to see me to be sure because of have a history or benign breast lumps.

If it does end up being mastitis, am I still able to breastfeed or do they make you pump and dump and feed the baby with either milk that was previously expressed or formula?

I’ve seen both things recommended, so I’m trying to see how it was for people on here.
