LONG POST!

I went in to get my first VUS two weeks ago. At that time, I believed I was 8 weeks along, but according to the size the tech measured, I was 6 weeks and she found a heartbeat of 96. Scheduled a repeat in two weeks. I had been brown spotting for about a week prior and I let her know and she said nothing to worry about.

Last week I started getting cramping. Mild, nothing I couldn’t handle, but definitely period like cramps. I called the doctor’s office, they recommended I come in Wednesday and Friday to do HCG levels. Cramping (on and off) and brown spotting continued.

Today the doctor’s office calls and says there was a decline (29 to 28) in my HCG levels, so I rescheduled my next VUS to tomorrow instead of Thursday because that seemed like forever to wait.

According to first VUS, I should be measuring at 8 weeks tomorrow. According to my tracking, I should be 10 weeks tomorrow.

Smaller than anticipated original ultrasound, bleeding, cramping, drop in HCG levels. All signs point to a miscarriage. I am heartbroken and don’t know how anyone copes with this.

I will update this post tomorrow with the results of my follow up ultrasound.

Prepared for the worst, praying for a miracle.
