How much sleep did you get each night, on average, during your baby's first month of life? 😴

I got postpartum depression really bad and anxiety. Then my son decided to start whining all night from like midnight on and then sleep all day. I for some reason couldn’t sleep during the day and my anxiety kept me up at night. Plus breast feeding so i didn’t sleep much at all until he was about 3 months old.

Every baby is different but with my first she would wake up every 2-3 hours to eat and she was bottle fed. As for my son he woke up every 2 hours to eat and he was breast fed. It will be very hard and exhausting but trust me it will get a lot easier once you can put them on a schedule. Good luck!

With my first? Roughly 4 hours of solid sleep at night. He wouldn’t sleep since he had colic and would cry nonstop until about 3-4am and then slept till 6am. It was miserable and exhausting. 
My second is a much better sleeper, she’s three weeks tomorrow and sleeps anywhere between 4-8 hour stretches and only wakes twice at night.

We didn’t have a very good sleeper, so my husband and I took shifts..I’d go to bed at like 7pm and he’d stay up till like 1am-2am..then I’d get up and we’d switch..that being said I didn’t breastfeed well at first (my son wouldn’t latch) so I pumped a lot, and we had to supplement..so this time around it probably won’t be that way, since (hopefully!) I’ll be breastfeeding all the time!

I was lucky to get 4-5 broken hours. The first week I probably got 6 hours total in that week. It was awful, I reached a whole new level of exhaustion. It's getting better and hes 2 months now, but hes still not sleeping through the night, he wakes on average every 3 hours

Never longer stretches then 1-2 hours and he fed up to 40 minutes each time😭
I made sure to sleep during the day when he did and binge watched Netflix shows haha
It gets better after the first few weeks 😊

I don’t really remember with my first because he’s almost 11, but with this baby who will be 8 weeks tomorrow, on average, even now I get maybe 4-5 hours but it’s all broken up with maybe 2 hours at most consecutively. I can count on one hand how many times I’ve slept for 5 hours at a time, and honestly I don’t know if it’s because he didn’t wake up or if I was just so completely passed out tired that I didn’t hear him. Last night was rough and today has been equally as rough. I get most of my sleep during the day when he sleeps, but that stops this week as I go back to work Monday. Praying we have a miracle over the weekend.

We went to bed around 9 o'clock, woke up at 1am and 5am to feed our daughter and then woke up for the day at 9am. So I still got a full night's sleep with two 30-minute feedings/diaper changes in there. Pretty simple. Then we had her sleeping straight through by 5 weeks.

With my first. Maybe an hour for the first few months. I was so delusional, I don't remember the first 3 months of her life. After that it was 3-4 hours. Be 6 months, she was sleeping 12-14 hours straight. I was finally able to sleep then. With my second I get 8 hours of broken sleep. She's up every 2 hours but my anxiety is much lower this time around. Also, I had PPD with my first. So far, I don't with my second.
