To find out the gender, or not?

I'm very excited for everyone finding out their babys gender. But I'm curious how many of us are waiting to find out later at either a special party or at the birth. I can't decide what I want to do. I feel pressured to find out by others but part of me doesn't want to. Now that we've told all our family and friends we are expecting, everyone now wants to know the gender and I can't blame them. But it's kind of stressful and all the crazy questions (and sometimes too personal ones) are taking the fun out of this first pregnancy for me. I've read the pros and cons but I still can't decide. Did you find out at your anatomy scan, at a reveal party, or wait until birth, and why?

You do what you want that makes you happy. It's your pregnancy and you have experience and no one should take that away from you. One thing I did wrong in my first pregnancy is people please and it took out a lot of joy and made the birthing experience not great.

We are not finding out the gender. I don’t understand when people say they’re finding out to be prepared - what do you have to buy for one gender and not the other? All I can think of is gendered clothes which I don’t care about. I don’t mind picking 2 names and the only other thing I can think of is deciding on circumcision. I’m not saying this to be a jerk but I literally can’t think of any reason why knowing would make it easier. Am I missing something?? I don’t care what we have and the thought of going through labor and then finding out makes me so excited.

We decided not to find out because I want the surprise at birth! Also to save myself from going on a shopping spree 😂 We also didn’t want to get a ton of gender specific clothes from friends and family, since we already will be getting so many hand me downs. I figured we’ve already gone 5 months of not knowinh, what’s another few months of waiting.

I’m waiting till birth! My mom is up a a walk about it, but we’re standing firm. I know for a fact if we say it’s a girl we’ll ONLY get pink stuff and dresses. Or vice versa.
It’s YOUR pregnancy, if you don’t want to find out the sex, then wait!

With our first we didn’t find out before the birth and it’s the best surprise you’ll ever have! Worth the wait :)

I did at the anatomy scan. Not a fan of gender reveals, but wanted to be prepared with items to purchase prior to. It’s completely up to you on if you choose to wait. I don’t let other people’s opinions change the way i feel about the name I’ve chosen for my child or anything either. Having a child 10 years ago is so much different than today! I see people judging people for the name they choose for their baby, putting down moms who want c section, those that would rather bottle feed and judging those who want to circumcise and vaccinate. It’s ridiculous

Its honestly completely your decision 😊 we found out but because we really wanted to no! Alot of my partners family said they were disappointed and wanted us to wait until birth but we did what we wanted to do xx

We’re finding out at our anatomy scan because we’re excited to know! But we’re not doing a gender reveal or anything like that. Like the others said, it’s really up to you and your partner. I do know someone due in January who isn’t finding out until birth. If that’s what you both prefer, then go for it!
