What Would You Do?

So I watch two little boys during the day with my 2 month old. I started back with them when I was 4 weeks postpartum and it was pretty exhausting but I managed. The youngest one is two and he's going through this horrible tantrum phase where he hits, yells, bites, throws things, Etc. Well today I was buckling him into his car seat during his meltdown and had my 2 month old in her carrier and he kicked her so hard in the back of the head that he gave her a mild concussion, we just left the hospital. We need the extra income but I just don't want to bring her there anymore and I want to be with her during the day. I so wish I could be a stay-at-home mom, but it's just not in the budget. Anyone have any idea what I can do to make sure this doesn't happen again? I feel like a mom failure. I do want to say that he felt really bad and he didn't mean to hurt her he just doesn't know how to express his emotions oh, he's not a bad kid

Okay... so my son is 18 months, and my niece turns 3 in a few weeks.  She throws the most explosive tantrums - it’s unreal.  Hitting, biting, throwing BIG toys directly AT people... scratching herself, running into roadways... the works.  When I DO babysit her I will separate the two when I see a tantrum coming on.  I place my son somewhere safe and then deal with her tantrum.
 
I’m expecting #2 in 7 weeks (my son will be 20 months old), and I expect to have the same issues between my own sons.  It’s difficult, and you do feel like crap when one of the kids is hurt.  But setting up boundaries and knowing when to go ahead and separate them is the best course.
 
And never have baby in a carrier when he’s throwing a fit if possible - or flip to your back.  My niece grabbed my sons hair and wouldn’t let go.  I just about lost my bloody mind. 😭😱.

Maybe start trying to work with him on expressing his emotions because my son has really bad tantrums to where he'll make himself throw up and I have to sit him down and hold his little face and tell him to look at me and to take a deep breath and calm down and I have to keep repeating that until he's fully calm then in a little while when he's calm down I ask him hey what was going on are you okay how are you feeling were you mad/sad/etc. Idk if this helps? This is just how I do it with my almost 2 year old. So far he's been understanding more and it's faster to calm him down once I give him an explanation he understands.

If this is your first baby, you're gonna feel guilt when something happens to your baby. But accidents do happen and he didnt mean to. Hes only two. My daughter was a little over a year old when I had my second baby, and we had to explain to her over and over again to be gentle. If you absolutely must baby sit for an income, try keeping your bBy a good distant away from them, especially during a tantrum. I kept my son with me at all times, usually in a bouncer or something that I could make mobile. Maybe even speak with the parents about what happened and see what they would suggest. If they allow time-outs, put him in time-out whenever he throws a tantrum. When my two year old throws a tantrum, I simply place her on the couch with no one around her and make her sit there until she is done.

Have you looked into  hold care financial aid? Find out if it’s offered in your county & use it to start working somewhere safer & reliable. You can also try to look online for jobs that you can do at home, ive seen alot of CSR jobs you can do at home.
